Igor Karim
Igor Karim is a member of the “Democratic Governance and Ecopolitical Transformations” (EcoPol) research group at RIFS Potsdam. He works as a researcher and filmmaker specializing in Scientific and Ethnographic Film Theory, Visual Anthropology, and Environmental Studies. Before moving to Germany, he worked at Brazil's National Foundation for Indigenous Peoples (FUNAI) on monitoring and protection policies for isolated indigenous groups. Previous research focused on ethnographic and scientific film theory, remix and found-footage filmmaking, post-colonial and decolonial debates on film archives and restitution, practice-based and artistic research on conflict resolution and computer-assisted film analysis.
